As we rounded the tip of Washington Island only 100 yards offshore the depth sounder read 150 ft.—this is  certainly not Sarasota Bay.   The  other side of  the island had a beautiful sand beach.  We could see the points of Door Peninsula jutting out into Green Bay , but no land was in sight if we looked westward.   It was an easy broad reach sail down the peninsula with light winds and quiet seas.

Pulling into Sister Bay Marina just before noon, we were impressed by the expansive and active waterfront park which included a beach, playground, restaurants and shops.

We continue to see vintage wooden Chris Craft boats, beautifully restored.  Fresh water and winter storage must make it possible to maintain such a quality vessel.

The local novelty restaurant was  the Swedish restaurant, Al Johnson’s. The building had a grass roof and a resident goat to keep the grass groomed.  What a perfect photo moment!
Actually the food was very good and the costumed Swedish waitresses played the part well.

We watched this wooden schooner leave the harbor for a sunset cruise while we walked back to our boat.  Tonight is reserved for online research for our next ports of call and weather reports since we have good wifi connection at the marina.
