A walk to the point with coffee in hand confirmed that the winds and seas were down and we could venture out once more.  We shared contact information with Billy and Ann from       Manitowoc  who have their granddaughters, Anna and Kendra, on board for the week.     Watching these delightful girls have fun at the beach, practice for the three-legged races, collect rocks and play with Gracie, the dog, made us miss our grandkids back home.

Leaving Snail Shell Harbor we passed the limestone bluffs, cleared the red buoy and headed to Little Bay de Noc.  The winds were light and seas calm—too calm to sail, but a nice passage nonetheless.  As we cleared Peninsula Point, we could see the light guiding us into the Escanaba Harbor.

The remainder of the day was dedicated to chores, laundry and a taxi ride to the grocery store.  With our work completed, we took off on the bikes for dinner at Herefords and Hops, a microbrewery specializing in beef  entrées.  Ron was a happy man—Oatmeal Stout and bacon-wrapped meatloaf and a baked potato.
