Bobby’s Fish Camp MM 119

With the change of time, it was light early this morning, but the fog was heavy. The cold front moved in over night so jackets were required as we prepared to get underway as soon as the fog lifted.
Last in line as we headed south, but within an hour the faster boats were out of sight leaving just Betty L and us.
It was a cold, dreary day on the river raining off and on but we found a few interesting sights along the shore.
Once again the river took us in every compass direction as shown on our chartplotter. The distance on the serpentine Tenn-Tom is 450 river miles to Mobile Bay, compared to distance by car of only 294 miles.
There are very few anchorages in this section of the river and Bobby’s Fish Camp is the only place to “dock” within our travel range for the day. The fish camp consist of a 100’ dock and a campground. When we arrived there was room for one more boat on the dock so Betty L tied up and we rafted off her starboard side. Within an hour, we were notified that more boats were on their way and asked to move. Betty L rafted off two other boats and we were then the fourth boat out from the dock. Gee, what fun to pay for dockage, then have to traipse over three other boats to reach land. There was no exploration of the area since it was raining and cold. At least we do have shore power and we can run the heat to dry out our little boat home.
