Indeed, the temps were in the 40s last night and still chilly this morning.  We were able to stay cozy last night, but the down side to being in a fiberglass cocoon is condensation on the inside of the windows, hatches and even ceiling.  We had to towel dry this morning and I even took all the clothes out of the hanging locker to ventilate.

Our course took us through a major shipping channel this morning and we shared the waterway with various commercial vessels as we rounded Cape Fear.

The water was very rough and we had a strong current against us in the open area at the entrance to Cape Fear River.  The conditions calmed as the channel narrowed and was more protected, but our speed was pitiful with the current against us and unable to set a sail as we were directly into the wind.

It is amazing how focused one becomes on the depth finder after a sighting such as this on the ICW!

Water activities are what makes Wrightsville Beach, NC tick!  Vessels of all shapes and sizes can be seen on the ICW, of course it is Saturday and a beautiful Easter weekend.

Wrightsville is also a popular summer destination and its top attraction is the beach itself.

The cruising guides and websites list this anchorage as popular with the locals, so we are pleased to be anchored early and have a good spot. These two of the seven boats with whom we share the space.

We took advantage of the local dinghy dock, walked a couple of blocks and enjoyed the view of the beach and the Atlantic.

We wish everyone a blessed Easter Sunday and hope you will be surrounded by family and friends to share your day.
