A walk to  Cliff’s Boathouse for breakfast was the perfect way to start the day.  When we arrived at 8:00 o’clock there was a group waiting for the door to open.—always a good sign.  Orders were taken quickly and the kitchen went to work making the customers happy.  The food was great and we ate our fill.
It certainly was not a hardship to be in Reef Point Marina for another day. This marina, with 1,000 slips, is a very social place with all the amenities, including a hot tub and pool.  There were lots of people spending the Labor Day weekend on their boats with music playing and dock parties in full swing from morning to night.   Nancy and Carey invited all of us for docktails at four o’clock.  Madeline and I prepared some goodies to share while the boys packed the cooler with drinks and we took our dinghies over to their dock.

Nancy and Carey own a 32' Nordic Tug which we toured.  It was a very well built and comfortable boat with tons of storage.  They are in the planning stage for The Great Loop and were interested in any and all information we could provide.  The talk centered around boat handling, anchoring techniques, locks, navigation, and tales of the places we have experienced on our trip.  They plan to sell their boat and move up to a 37’ Nordic Tug which will be their home for a year while they do The Loop.  They are on a count down to retirement .  .  .two years, six months.  None of us were particularly hungry for dinner, but felt a dinghy ride to the Chancery Restaurant was in order, perhaps for dessert.  I can vouch for the beer-cheese soup and Ron enjoyed the warm apple skillet with ice cream.  As we went our separate ways to return to our boats, Ron and I ventured up the Racine River and experienced the lights and sounds of the restaurants along the riverfront.
