A light rain greeted us this morning when we awakened to the honking of the geese.  Late       yesterday afternoon we met several people who shared information about Lakefield and told us about a jazz festival this weekend at the park adjacent to the marina.  It was also mentioned that some years Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones attend since they visit this area – Ron has been in love with Catherine for many years - the decision was made to stay in Lakefield today and participate in the happenings.

Downtown was quaint, lots of flowers, homes and churches from the mid 1800s which are well     preserved and documented in the local museum.  Our walk into town culminated with a delightful experience at Bezzies’ Bistro for a wonderful    frittata brunch.  As we ate, we  chatted  with a woman from Lakes Wales who had driven here to bring her granddaughter, Bailey, to a Celtic violin and dance camp for the week.  The owner/chef was a sailor and shared his stories of sailing the Greek Isles—best part of the trip is taking time to meet people and hear their stories, eh!

Turns out the final group at the jazz festival made it well worth the stay—the lead female singer had a deep, smooth and sultry voice and kept people on their feet dancing.  We managed to  outlast the mosquitoes and enjoyed the last song at 11:00 p.m.
